The nakhlite alteration and habitability – mobility and quantification of essential elements
نویسنده
چکیده
The nakhlite Martian meteorites contain alteration mineral assemblages, which reveal detailed information about their formation conditions; Thermochemical modeling allows the assessment of factors not observable in the rocks, such as temperature and fluid chemistry at the time of mineral formation. Combining observation and thermochemical modeling leads to the conclusion that ~4 g CO2 are sequestered per 10 g of altered Lafayette in the presence of 1 kg of water. 27 x 10 -9 g of P and 0.06 g of S are available in the fluid after mineral precipitation. Other cations important for habitability, e.g., Na, K, Ca, and Mg, are present in solution.

Calculation of Mass Transfer and Element Mobility During the Hydrothermal Alteration in the Sungun PORPHYRY Copper Deposit Iran
The Sungun porphyry copper deposit is located in northwestern Iran and is associated with diorite/granodiorite to quartz-monzonite of Miocene age, which intruded Eocene volcanosedimentary and Cretaceous carbonate rocks. Copper mineralization was accompanied by both potassic and phyllic alteration. Three main mineralization related alteration episodes (potassic, transition, and phyllic alteratio...

The volcanic rocks of Silurian in Khosh yeylagh are located in eastern Alborz structural zone, east of Golestan Province. This volcanic mass is significantly affected by hydrothermal alteration. Propylitic alteration is the most dominant alteration in this area. Based on field observation and X-Ray diffraction studies, four alteration zones of chlorite, epidote, albite and hematite are recogni...

The Baba Ali deposit is located about 39 km to the north west of Hamadan city. The syenitic pluton intruded and metamorphosed the diorite host rock producing the skarn deposit. Geochemical considerations indicate that the concentration values of rare earth elements in the syenite and diorite range from 35.4 to 560 ppm. Rare earth elements variation in syenitic, skarn and diorite rock are simil...

Ultramafic rocks of the ophiolitic complexes are prone to alteration and degradation, and therefore, ease of mobility of heavy metals such as nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co), lead (Pb), and vanadium (V), resulting in environmental hazards. The ultramafic rocks of the ophiolitic realm of Kurdistan province, west of Iran, show field and compositional evidence for such hazardous conditions...
